Hesperia
One of the Hesperides including: Aegle, Arethusa, and Erytheia.
Hesperian
Denoting or characteristic of countries of Europe and the Western Hemisphere; "occidental civilization"; "Hesperian culture".
Hesperides
Daughters of the Titan Atlas and Hesperis.

They were the guardians of a tree with golden apples, a wedding present for Hera by Gaea. The Hesperides were perhapes called Aegle, Erythia, Vesta, and Arethusa and they lived in the land of the west, where their gardens provided eternal happiness for its visitors.

This country was also called Elysium, and was the opposite of Hades. It was here that some of the heroes and many women went after their deaths.

hesperidium (s), hesperidia (pl)
A berry having a thickened leathery rind and juicy pulp divided into segments, as an orange or other citrus fruit.
Hesperornis
A genus of large, extinct, wingless birds from the Cretaceous deposits of Kansas, belonging to the Odontornithes.

They had teeth, and were essentially carnivorous swimming ostriches. Several species have been identified.

Hesperus, Hesper
1. An evening star; especially, Venus.
2. The planet Venus in its appearance as the evening star.
