electrum
gigaelectrovolt
helioelectrical, helioelectricity
Converting energy from the sun to electricity; that is, by means of photovoltaics (solar cells).
hydroelectric
The conversion of water power into electric power.
hydroelectricity
1. A form of energy generated by the conversion of free-falling water to electricity.
2. The generation of electricity by using the motive power of water.
3. Relating to or producing electricity by the force of fast moving water; such as, rivers or waterfalls.
hydroelectrization
Galvanic stimulation of a portion of the body immersed in water.
lithotripsy, electrohydraulic lithotripsy
1. A procedure of crushing or breaking a stone in the urinary bladder or urethra into small particles that can be passed in the urine.
2. The crushing of a urinary calculus or gallstone within the body, followed at once by the washing out the fragments.
It was formerly done only surgically but can now be accomplished by various noninvasive methods; such as, using a lithotriptor, a device that passes shock waves through a water-filled tub in which the patient sits. As stated earlier, the resulting stone fragments are small enough to be expelled during urination.
magnetothermoelectricity
The passing of an electric current through semimetals; such as, the elements of bismuth and antimony, in the presence of a magnetic field.
megaelectron

phonoelectrocardioscope
An instrument for the simultaneous visualization of a phonocardiogram and an electrocardiogram.
phonoelectrocardioscopy
The simultaneous registration of a phonocardiogram as well as an electrocardiogram on an oscilloscope.
phonoelectroscope
A stethoscope that suppresses the low frequencies characteristic of normal heart function to emphasize the high frequencies.
