edaphic
1. Of or relating to the soil.
2. Resulting from or influenced by the soil rather than the climate.
edaphology
1. The science that deals with the influence of soils on living things, particularly plants, including man's use of land for plant growth.
2. The ecological relationship of soil with plants and land cultivation practices.
3. The study of soils.
edaphon
1. The aggregate of organisms that live in the soil.
2. An organism (nematode worm, fungus, bacterium, etc.) that lives in the soil.
Edaphosaurus
A “ground-earth lizard” that lived during the Late Carboniferous and Early Permian periods. Its fossils have been found in Europe and North America.
