Cythera
An island of southern Greece in the Mediterranean Sea south of the Peloponnesus.

Southernmost of the Ionian Islands, it was the chief center for the worship of Aphrodite.

Cytheran
A reference to the planet Venus.

Cythera is the Ionian island on which the goddess Venus supposedly first set foot when she emerged from the foam.

cytherean, Cytherean
Relating to the planet Venus.
cytheromania
Another term for nymphomania [an exaggerated sexual desire in a female for men].
