Commonly used in international dealings to indicate that nothing is to be changed, or that there is to be a return to an earlier state of affairs.

The previous position before the war.

Commonly used in international dealings to indicate that there is to be a return to an earlier state of affairs that existed before a war.

stet processus
Let the process stand.

A court order suspending further action.

Used in proofreading to indicate that something queried or removed from the text should be retained.

Under punishment or penalty.

A sub poena is a court order requiring a person to appear in court, usually unwillingly, on pain of punishment if he/she does not do so. Usually a sub poena is ordered so someone can give evidence or "bear witness" for a specified legal trial.
