bathycentesis
In surgery, a deep puncture; such as, into a cavity or tumor.
bathyclinograph
A mechanism which measures vertical currents in the deep sea.
bathycolpian, bathukolpian
1. Having an ample bosom with a deep cleavage.
2. Having a deep bosom.
3. Etymology: "Big-breasted" from about 1825, from the Greek element bathykolpos; literally, "deep-bosomed" from bathys, "deep" plus kolpos, "breast".
bathycolpic, bathykolpic
A reference to bathycolpian, bathukolpian; such as, "She has a bathycolpic figure."
bathyconductograph
A device to measure the electrical conductivity of sea water at various depths from a moving ship.
bathyesthesia, bathyaesthesia
A consciousness or sensibility of the parts of the body located beneath the surface of the skin; such as, muscles, ligaments, tendons, bones, and joints sensibilities.
bathygram
A graph recording the measurements of sonic sounding instruments.
bathygraphical
A reference to ocean depths and mountains heights; such as, a bathygraphical map.
bathyhyperesthesia
1. The increased sensitiveness of deep structures of the body.
2. Excessive sensitivity of muscles and other deep body structures.
bathyhypesthesia
1. Impairment of sensitivity in muscles and other deep-body structures.
2. Decreased deep sensibility.
bathyhypoesthesia
A decreased sensibility of body parts which exist below the surface of the skin.
bathylimnetic
1. Living at the bottom of lakes or marshes.
2. A reference to the deep-water regions of a lake.
bathylite
A mass of igneous rock that has risen from a great depth.
bathylith
1. A large mass of intrusive igneous rock believed to have solidified deep within the earth.
2. A large body of intrusive igneous rock believed to have crystallized at a considerable depth below the earth's surface; pluton.
bathylittoral
That part of the marine sublittoral zone that is devoid of algae.
