esthesis
The perception of the external world by the senses.
esthesodic
Providing a path for sensory impulses; that is, conveying sensations from the external organs to the brain or nerve centers; also esthesiodic and esthesiogenic.
esthete
Another spelling version (U.S.) of aesthete.
esthetic, esthetics
1. Concerning the appreciation of beauty or good taste.
2. A guiding principle in matters of artistic beauty and taste; artistic sensibility.
esthetical, esthetically
1. Concerning, or characterized by, an appreciation of beauty or good taste.
2. Relating to, esthetics; that is, relating to the philosophy or theory of beauty.

It is often interchanged in use with esthetic, but properly distinct; thus, “My esthetical notions are the notions I have on the subject of esthetics.” “My esthetic faculties are those which exercise esthetics.”

estheticism
The quality of being esthetic; that is, the pursuit of, or devotion to, what is sensuously beautiful.
estheticokinetic
Being both sensory and motor.
esthetic surgery
Cosmetic surgery, or a surgical procedure performed to improve, to preserve, or to restore a person's appearance.
esthetophore
A substance that sustains consciousness.
euesthesia
The normal condition of the sensations or feelings.
gargalanesthesia, gargalanaesthesia, gargalanesthetic
The absence of the sense of tickling.
gargalesthesia, gargalaesthesia, gargalaesthetic
That area of feeling that perceives tickling sensations.
gastroesthesia
Having a sensitive stomach.
general anaesthesia, general anesthesia
A state resembling deep sleep.

First, a sedative is given, then an infusion is placed, and a fast acting sleep-inducing agent is injected.

A variety of agents (narcotics) are then administered to maintain this condition of deep sleep for the duration of the operation.

geoaesthesia, geoesthesia
The capacity of a plant to perceive and to respond to gravity.
