Soneone who practices divination by interpreting smoke from animal sacrifices.

The science of measuring the concentration of smoke in the atmosphere, in a smoke plume, or in a flue gas.
capnopathy
Any disease caused by smoking.
capnophilia
A fondness for smoking or of being in the presence of smoke.
capnophilic
Growing best with added carbon dioxide; said of certain kinds of bacteria.
capnophobia, capnophobiac, capnomania, capnomaniac: coined by John G. Robertson
These words were all created for John G. Robertson's book, An Excess of Phobias and Manias, published in 2003, because they were not available in any dictionaries or other known sources to express these conditions.

capnophobia; also, fumiphobia
1. An intense hatred, or fear, of smoking or having anyone around who is polluting the air in the immediate vicinity with tobacco smoke; whether from cigarettes, cigars, pipe, or from any similar process of smoke distribution.
2. A fear of smoke exhausts from motor vehicles which are blamed for causing so much pollution in the air.

capnophobiac (s), capnophobiacs (pl)
Anyone or those, who have a dread, or extreme hatred, of smoking and being around people who are doing it.
capnosis
The smoking of cigarettes, cigars, etc.
capnotic
A person having the smoking habit; pertaining to smoking.
eucapnia
A state in which the arterial carbon dioxide pressure is optimal. Also: normocapnia.
hypercapnia
1. The presence of an abnormally high level of carbon dioxide in the circulating blood.
2. An abnormally increased arterial carbon dioxide tension as a result of hypoventilation; hypercarbia.
hypercapnic
1. A reference to or characterized by hypercapnia.
2. A descriptive word for an excess of carbon dioxide in the blood.
hypercapnosis
Excessive smoking.
hypocapnia
1. A condition in which the level of carbon dioxide in the blood is lower than normal which can result from deep or rapid breathing.
2. Abnormally decreased arterial carbon dioxide tension; hypocarbia.
