articulatio talocruralis, ankle joint
1. A hinge synovial joint between the tibia and fibula above and the talus below.
2. A gliding joint between the distal ends of the tibia and fibula and the proximal end of the talus.
3. The joint that is formed by the inferior articular and malleolar articular surfaces of the tibia, the malleolar articular surface of the fibula, and the medial malleolar, lateral malleolar, and superior surfaces of the talus.

Relating to the talus.
talaria
1. The winged sandals of the Greek god, Hermes; and the Latin equivalent god, Mercury. Winged sandals were also worn by Iris, Eos, Eros, the Furies, and the Harpies.
2. In Latin, talaria refers to "winged shoes" or sandals while a talar refers to "a robe that reaches down, or stretches, to the ankle" and by extensiion, talus, "ankle, ankle bone, heel."

2. A congenital deformity of the foot usually marked by a curled shape or twisted position of the ankle and heel and toes.

Relating to the talus and the calcaneus (the heel bone).

Relating to the talus and the bones of the leg; denoting the ankle joint.

Relating to the talus and the fibula.

1. The claws (or less usually in singular, any claw) of a bird or beast.
2. The powerful claws of a bird of prey, or of a dragon, griffin, etc.
3. The caudally directed digit on the foot, particularly of a bird of prey.
4. A heel-like part or object.
3. An obsolete definition: The "heel" or hinder part of the foot of certain quadrupeds, as swine and deer, or of the hoof of a horse.

Relating to the talus and the navicular bone (bone in the ankle).
talonid
A flattened cusp on a mammalian lower molar tooth, corresponding to the talon on an upper molar.
talotibial
Relating to, or concerning, the talus and the tibia.
talus (s), tali (pl)
The ankle bone articulating with the tibia, fibula, calcaneus, and navicular bone; formerly called astragalus.
