seborrheic, seborrhoic, seborrheal
1. Afflicted with or like seborrhea.
2. A reference to those areas of the body in which sebaceous glands are abundant; i.e. the scalp, face, chest, back, axilla (armpit), and groin.
seborrheic areas
Areas where sebaceous glands are numerous, as the scalp, sides of the noise, chin, center of the chest, back, axilla (armpits), and groins.
seborrheic blepharoconjunctivitis
An obsolete term for a conjunctivitis associated with chronic inflammation of the meibomian glands, with swollen tarsal plates and frothy seborrheic secretion.
seborrheic dermatitis
1. A form of inflammatory skin rash that results from an over activity of the sebaceous glands in the skin.
2. An acute, inflammatory form of dermatitis, occurring usually on oily skin in areas having large sebaceous glands; characterized by dry, moist, or greasy scales and by crusting yellowish patches, remissions, exacerbations, and itching. Synonyms: dermatitis seborrheica, eczema seborrheicum.
seborrheic keratosis, seborrhaic keratasis
1. A benign skin lesion resulting from excessive growth of the top layer of skin cells. It usually is found in persons over 30 years old and may be few or numerous.
2. A benign skin tumor composed of squamous and basaloid cells that are arranged in various patterns to produce a brown papule, studded with yellow collections of keratotic material giving the lesions a greasy appearance.
seborrheid
Extensive seborrheic dermatitis characterized by widely scattered lesions.
sialorrhea, sialorrhoea (British)
1. An excess secretion of saliva; a condition produced by mercury, pilocarpine, and by nervous disturbances.
2. The excessive flow of saliva.
spanomenorrhea
Menstrual insufficiency. Synonym: hypomenorrhea.
spermatorrhea
1. The involuntary emission of semen without orgasm.
2. An involuntary discharge of semen.
steatorrhea
Passage of fat in large amounts in the feces, due to failure to digest and absorb it; occurs in pancreatic disease and the malabsorption syndromes.
succorrhea
1. An abnormal increase in the secretion of a digestive fluid.
2. The excessive flow of a body secretion.
sudorrhea
Excessive sweating or perspiring; hyperhidrosis.
trichorrhea
The rapid loss of hair.
ulorrhea, ulorrhagia
Hemorrhage from the gingivae (gums of the teeth).
urethrorrhea
An abnormal discharge from the urethra.
