aquarellist

aquarian
1. Of or pertaining to the sign of Aquarius; characteristic of a person born under this sign.
2. One of a sect of Christians in the primitive church, who used water instead of wine in the Lord's Supper.
3. Someone who keeps an aquarium.
aquarist
1. Someone who maintains or keeps an aquarium.
2. A curator, collector, or ichthyologist associated with an aquarium or aquaria.
aquarium (s), aquaria (pl)
1. A water-filled transparent container, often box-shaped, in which fish and other water animals and plants are kept.
2. A tank, bowl, or other water-filled enclosure in which living fish or other aquatic animals and plants are kept.
3. A building in which fish and other water animals are kept and shown to the public.
4. A place for the public exhibition of live aquatic animals and plants.

An aquarium is also known as a vivarium, and is usually contained in a clear-sided container (typically constructed of glass or high-strength plastic) in which water-dwelling plants and animals (usually fish, and sometimes invertebrates, as well as amphibians, marine mammals, and reptiles) are kept in captivity, often for public display; or it is an establishment featuring such displays.

A wide variety of aquaria are now kept by hobbyists, ranging from a simple bowl housing a single fish to complex ecosystems with carefully engineered support systems. Aquaria are usually classified as containing fresh or salt water, at tropical or cold water temperatures.

Aquarius
1. In astronomy, the "Water Bearer", a zodiacal constellation between Pisces and Capricornus.
2. In astrology, the eleventh sign of the zodiac: the fixed air sign; a person born under this sign, usually between January 20th and February 18th; an Aquarian.
aquascape
1 A scenic view of a body of water.
2 An area having a natural or constructed aquatic feature; such as, a pond or fountain.
aquatel
Water sensor used for measuring water density in soils.

Useful in a reactive type of irrigation scheduling where the sensor acts as a marker; that is, start irrigation when a sensor reaches a certain mark and stop irrigating at another mark.

1. Consisting of, relating to, or being in water: "an aquatic environment" or "an aquatic habitat" (ponds, lakes, streams, oceans, etc.).
2. Living or growing in, on, or near the water: "aquatic animals and plants".
3. Taking place or practiced on or in water: "aquatic sports".
aquatic animal, aquatic animals
An animal having a water habitat.

Aquatic animals require a watery habitat, but do not necessarily have to live entirely in water.

Animal environments are classified as either aquatic (water), terrestrial (land), or amphibious (water and land).

Wading and swimming and diving birds of either fresh or salt water.
aquaticole, aquaticolous
Living in water or aquatic vegetation.
aquatic plant
1. A plant that grows partly or wholly in water whether rooted in the mud, as a lotus, or floating without anchorage, as the water hyacinth; also known as: water plant, hydrophyte, hydrophytic plant.
2. A species of plant that has adapted to living in or on aquatic environments.
aquatic respiration
A reference to the process whereby an aquatic animal obtains oxygen from the surrounding water.
aquatic vertebrate
An animal living wholly or chiefly in or on water.
aquatile
A reference to anything that inhabits water.
