Usually limited to medical terms. Original meaning is literally "that which eats or consumes".


diaphragmodynia
A term for a pain in the diaphragm.
didymalgia, didymodynia
Pain in a testicle.
dorsodynia
Pain in the upper back.
encephalodynia
Pain in the head; head ache; "headache of intracranial origin".
enterodynia
Pain in the intestines or colic pain.
epidemic pleurodynia
An acute infectious disease usually occurring in epidemic form, characterized by paroxysms (fit or violent attack) of pain, usually in the chest.
esophagodynia
Pain in the esophagus (musculomembranous passage extending from the pharynx to the stomach).
essential vulvodynia
1. A chronic, diffuse, unremitting sensation of burning of the vulva (the female external genital organs including the labia, clitoris, and entrance to the vagina); a painful sensation which may extend to the perineum, thigh, or buttock and is often associated with discomfort in the urethra and rectum.
2. Painful vulva.
gastrodynia
A stomach pain or ache.
gastroperiodynia
Periodic attacks of pain in the stomach.
glossodynia
1. A pain in the tongue or a painful tongue.
2. Paresthesia (numbness, tingling, stinging, burning) marked by a burning sensation of the tongue.
gnathodynia
Pain in the jaw.
hepatodynia
Pain in the liver.
hysterodynia
Pain in the uterus.
inguinodynia
Pain in the groin.
