Usually limited to medical terms. Original meaning is literally "that which eats or consumes".


carotodynia, carotidynia
Pain caused by pressure on the carotid artery (key artery located in the front of the neck that carries blood from the heart to the brain).
celiodynia
A stomach pain or a pain in the abdomen.
cephalodynia
A headache or a pain in the head.
cephalodynic
A reference to a headache or a pain in the head.
cervicodynia
Pain in the neck or a neck pain.
chondrodynia
Pain in and around cartilage.
coccygodynia, coccyodynia
Pain in the coccygeal region (last bone of the spinal column).
colpodynia
Pain in the vagina.
coxodynia
Pain in the hip joint.
crymodynia
1. Pain from cold, especially rheumatic pain aggravated by cold or damp weather.
2. Rheumatic pain coming on in cold or damp weather
cystodynia
Pain in the urinary bladder.
dactylocampsodynia
1. Painful flexion (bending a joint) of the fingers.
2. Painful contraction (shortening or reduction in size) of one or more fingers.
dactylodynia
Pain in a finger or fingers.
dermatodynia
Localized pain, usually confined to the skin.
desmodynia
Pain in a ligament.
