1. Neurosis characterized by hypochondriacal complaints or somatic manifestations held by Freud to be caused by sexual disturbances.
2. A neurosis based on emotional conflict in which an impulse that has been blocked seeks expression in a disguised response or symptom.

1. Pain in one foot or both feet. Such foot pains may be a result of gout or rheumtism, among other causes.
2. Pain in the sole of a foot or both feet; also, pododynia, tarsalgia.
polyneuralgia
Neuralgia (acute spasmodic pain) of several nerves simultaneously.
polyneuritis
Neuritis (inflammation of a nerve accompanied by pain and sometimes loss of function) involving several nerves simultaneously.
polyneuropathy
A disease process involving a number of peripheral (away from the center) nerves (literal sense), noted in beriberi and chronic alcoholism, as a result of thiamin deficiency.
prosopalgia, prosopalgic, prosoponeuralgia
Trigeminal neuralgia (cranial nerve).
pseudoneuritis

The study of the relationships that exist among the central nervous system, autonomic nervous system, endocrine system, and immune system.
psychoneurosis (s), psychoneuroses (pl)
Emotional maladaptation due to unresolved unconscious conflicts. This leads to disturbances in thoughts, feelings, attitudes, and behaviors. There is little, if any, loss of contact with reality, but the patient's effectiveness in performing usual responsiveness is handicapped.
