nauseating
1. Feeling or causing the feeling of nausea. 2. Causing sickness of the stomach; nauseous; such as, to cause contempt, disgust, loathing, etc.: "Regrettably, she had to listen to the nauseating story presented by the physician."
nauseous, nauseously
1. Producing the unsettling feeling in the stomach that accompanies the urge to vomit.
2. Suffering from the unsettling feeling in the stomach that accompanies the urge to vomit.
3. Affected with nausea; nauseated: to feel nauseous.
nauseousness
1. An instance of nausea or sickness.
2. Foulness or offensiveness that gives rise to nausea.
nausifugic
Medicine that relieves nausea.
nautical, nautic
1. Of, relating to, or characteristic of ships, shipping, sailors, or navigation on a body of water; such as, nautical terms.
2. Nautical, marine, maritime, naval; these adjectives mean of or relating to the sea, ships, shipping, sailors, or navigation: nautical charts; marine insurance; maritime law; a naval officer.
nautiloids
A mollusk of the subclass Nautiloidea, which includes the nautiluses and numerous extinct species known only from fossils.
Nautilus
1. The first nuclear-powered submarine launched by the U.S. Navy.
2. A submarine that is propelled by nuclear power (nuclear submarine, nuclear-powered submarine).
3. A cephalopod mollusk of warm seas whose females have delicate papery spiral shells (paper nautilus).
4. A cephalopod of the Indian and Pacific oceans having a spiral shell with pale pearly partitions (chambered nautilus, pearly nautilus).
nautomania
A morbid interest in ships or large bodies of water.
nautophobia
A sailor's fear of drowning in the sea.
nautumephilist
A collector of naval uniforms.
oceanaut
1. An underwater swimmer in an ocean who uses an underwater breathing device.
2. A skilled worker who can live in underwater installations and participate in scientific research.
oneironaut
Someone who is said to realize that he/she is dreaming while in a dream.
shuttlenaut
A space-shuttle flight pilot or crew member.
taikonaut (TIGH koh nawt)
1. A Chinese astronaut; an English "nickname".
2. Taikonaut comes from the Chinese word taikong, which means "space" or "cosmos"; however, Chinese astronauts are generally known as yuhangyuan, "travelers of the universe".
