iconometer
An instrument with which to measure the size of or distance to an object by measuring its image (or icon).
iconometry
The art of estimating the distances or sizes of objects by the use of the iconometer.
ideometer

inductometer
An instrument for measuring or ascertaining the degree or rate of electrical induction.
isometrics
A form of exercise in which the muscles are pushed against something fixed or against other muscles to strengthen them.
isometrograph
An instrument for tracing parallel lines at exactly equal distances.
isometropia
1. A condition of equal refraction in both eyes.
2. A condition of the eyes in which they have the same power of refraction, or the bending of light that takes place within the human eye.

Refractive errors include nearsightedness (myopia), farsightedness (hyperopia), and astigmatism. Lenses, or glasses, can be used to control the amount of refraction, correcting those errors.

isometry
1. The fact of being equal in dimension with several scientific, geographical, mathematical, meteorological, and other applications.
2. Equality of measure; such as, equality of height above sea level or equality of loudness etc.
isoperimeter
A figure having a perimeter equal to that of another.
isoperimetry
1. That branch of geometry which deals with isoperimetrical figures, and the problems connected with them.
2. The science of figures having equal perimeters or boundaries.
katathermometer
An alcohol-filled thermometer of specified design that is heated above ambient temperature and then allowed to cool; the time taken to cool between specified temperatures is a measure of the heat content of the environment that takes into account air movement as well as temperature.

The bulb may be silvered to minimize radiation effects or blackened to maximize them.

keratometer

kilogrammeter
A measure of energy or work done, being the amount expended in raising one kilogram through the height of one meter.
