Relating to, or living at ocean depths between about 200 and 1000 meters (656 and 3,280 feet); such as, mesopelagic organisms.
mesopexy
Fixation or attachment of a torn or incised (cut or broken) mesentery (membranes which connect the intestines and their appendages with the dorsal wall of the abdominal cavity).
mesophil
mesophilous, mesophilic, mesophile, mesophily
1. Thriving under intermediate or moderate environmental conditions; sometimes restricted to conditions of moderate moisture, or to moderate temperature.
2. A reference to micro-organisms having an optimum for growth between 20 and 45 degrees Centigrade.
3. Organisms, such as bacteria, that thrive at human-body temperature and of organisms preferring moderate moisture.

The plankton living between about a hundred fathoms from the bottom and a hundred from the surface or between epiplankton and bathyplankton; alternatively, all plankton below the epiplankton level.

Mesopotamia
A proper name for the tract between the Tigris and the Euphrates rivers. Sometimes used allusively in the etymological sense for a tract (in the middle) between two rivers.
Mesopotamian
1. A reference to the area of Mesopotamia.
2. A native or inhabitant of Mesopotamia (the larger part of which is now Iraq).
mesopotamic
A district between two rivers.
