iodophilia
An affinity for iodine, as manifested by some leukocytes (white-blood cells that help the body fight infections) in certain conditions.
iodophor
A substance consisting of iodine and a surface-active agent in solution that slowly releases elemental iodine which is used as a disinfectant.
iodosorb
Wound cleansing gel with antibacterial properties containing cadexomer iodine.
iodotherapy
1. Treatment of disease with iodine and its compounds.
2. The use of iodine medication, as in treating goiter due to iodine deficiency.
iodovolatilization
The release of free iodine by certain cells of brown algae or kelp.
ioduria
Urinary excretion of iodine.
